Dodamarg (Dist. Sindhudurg) – In a shocking incident, Rehan Latif (age 27) broke into a Hindu woman’s house at night and tried to assault her and her minor daughter. The enraged locals caught him, beat him up, and handed him over to the Police. Upon learning about the incident, leaders of Hindu organisations gathered at the Dodamarg Police station. Reports have revealed that Latif is connected to the minority cell of the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction. This has led to a tense atmosphere in Dodamarg and sparked a wave of anger among the Hindu community in Sindhudurg.
1. Latif resides in the Thorle Bharad area of Bhedshi and has a history of misconduct.
2. He is accused of luring Hindu women and girls in romantic relationships using money as bait and throwing them in illicit activities.
3. Previously, he had tricked a Hindu girl into a relationship and brought her to his home. During disputes with locals, he used this girl as a shield.
4. Latif has been reportedly engaged in disruptive activities like blocking roads, abusing passers-by, fighting with locals, selling marijuana, and harassing Hindu women and girls.
5. In a previous altercation, Latif extorted money from a local youth after a minor vehicle collision, falsely accusing the youth of breaking his car’s headlight.
