Illegal mosque built on a hill next to the ancient Shiva temple at Banda (Uttar Pradesh)

VHP warns if the administration does not demolish the mosque, VHP members would do so

Banda (Uttar Pradesh) – There is an ancient Shiva temple on the Bambeshwar hill where the Muslims have built an illegal mosque during COVID-19 pandemic. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) District President Chandramohan Bedi has written a letter to the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding the demolition of this mosque. According to the belief associated with this temple, Deity Shriram performed abhishek on the Shivlinga here, during his 14-year-long exile.

1. VHP has said that Jihadis are trying to promote Islamization in India and such activities will not be tolerated by VHP and Bajrang Dal. If the mosque is not removed immediately, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad will demolish it. Puttan Maharaj, the priest of this ancient temple and the president of the temple committee, has also opposed this mosque.

2. VHP office bearer Ashok Umar said that more than 6 tombs have been constructed here and prayers are offered there on Fridays. Around 6 mazars (tombs of Muslim pirs or fakirs) have also been built and Friday prayers are offered there. Earlier this place was not inhabited by Muslims; but now a large number of Muslims have settled here. The administration shall be responsible for the destruction of the mosque and tombs by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Strict action should be taken against those who built illegal mosque and mazars and they should be put in jail immediately.

3. Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary Deepu Dixit said if this is not stopped in time, a situation like Mathura and Kashi may arise, which could become a serious problem.

Editorial Perspective

Did the Hindus and the administration asleep until the mosque was built next to an ancient temple ? Shame on Hindus who are careless about protecting their ancient temples.
