Priyanka Vadra

Wayanad (Kerala) – Along with the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, by- elections have also been scheduled for the Wayanad constituency in Kerala, Nanded in Maharashtra, and the Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in Bengal. The Congress party has officially announced Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as their candidate for the Wayanad by-election. Voting for this by-election will take place on November 13th .

In the April-May 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi contested and won from two constituencies, Wayanad and Raebareli. As a result, Gandhi resigned from his Wayanad seat. Now, the Congress party has nominated his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, to contest the by-election from Wayanad. (Congress party continuing its tradition of dynastic politics – Editor).

Editorial Perspective

Since the Gandhi family has no support other than the Muslims, Priyanka has no other option but to stand from the Muslim-majority Wayanad.
