Court rejected the petition of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor

Incident of making insulting statement about Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi – A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court against Congress leaders and MPs for making derogatory statements about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this, Tharoor filed a petition in the court and demanded that the proceedings in this case be quashed. The court dismissed Tharoor’s plea, and also lifted the stay on the case brought by the lower court in 2019.

In 2018, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor referred to Prime Minister Modi as a ‘scorpion on Shivalinga’. On this, BJP leader Rajiv Babbar filed a defamation case against Tharoor in the Delhi High Court.
