Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Since Sheikh Hasina resigned as Prime Minister and left the country, persecution of Hindus has continued in Bangladesh. In the media of Bangladesh, the news of the attacks on the houses and temples of the Hindu community is being broadcast all over the country. Many radical Muslims around the world have expressed their joy after this news. Some have even expressed the hope that ‘Hindus should be massacred in Bangladesh’.
After the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the anti-Hindu violence that has grabbed global headlines, he tweeted his excitement over the devastating developments, advocating for the complete annihilation of Hindus from the country. In his own words, the fact that three of the four schools of jurisprudence for ‘Ahl as-Sunnah’ (traditions and practices of Prophet Muhammad that constitute a model for Muslims to follow) hold that Hindus should only have two options, embrace Islam or die, provides him with “great solace.” He further said that it is right that Hindus have adopted a second life living in Islamic countries. The Hindus there must refrain from idolatry and practice according to Islamic laws and regulations. He hoped that the country would be freed from the influence and interference of Hindus in Bangladesh.
