Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh under the pretext of anti-reservation protests

Several Hindus’ homes have been razed down

Threats are being issued such as “Those whose uncle’s house is in India should leave Bangladesh immediately”

New Delhi – There has been violence over reservation in Bangladesh for the past few days. The Supreme Court has now changed the reservation limit to 7%, marking a victory for the protesters. A video of the violence has gone viral on ‘X’, showing houses of Hindus being set on fire during the unrest. This video was shared by a person named Jitendra Pratap Singh.

1. Jitendra Singh wrote in the post that the protesters were speaking through loudspeakers, saying, “Those whose uncle’s house is in India should leave Bangladesh immediately.”

2. In Bangladesh, many Hindus’ houses are being burned and attacked, and an anti-India atmosphere is being created all over Bangladesh under the guise of this violence.

3. Due to the violence in Bangladesh, more than 4,500 Indian students have returned to India. So far, more than 115 people have been killed in this violence. India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh is in constant touch with local authorities for the safety of Indian citizens.
