Bageshwar Dham (Madhya Pradesh) – Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, head of Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur District of Madhya Pradesh, has appealed to all the shopkeepers in Bageshwar Dham to put up their name boards like in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Pandit Shastri said that it is necessary to write the name of the owner at the entrances of all the shops and hotels here and it is a good thing.

Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Governments have ordered hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other food vendors along the Kanwar Yatra routes, to put up boards and write the owner’s name, address and phone number on it. There is a demand for a similar rule in Madhya Pradesh as well.
Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri further said, “We neither have a problem with Shriram, nor with Rahman. We have a problem with demons. So put a name board outside your shop so that the religion and sanctity of the devotees will not be corrupted.” Pandit Shastri said that all the shopkeepers of Bageshwar Dham should put up the name boards within 10 days, otherwise legal action will be taken by Dhyan Samiti.
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra runs to the Court
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has approached the Supreme Court against the order of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Governments. Moitra has sought a stay on the orders passed by both the State Governments in her petition. Such an order, she said, encourages inter- communal disputes. (Do the seculars, who otherwise keep screaming about freedom of expression, not believe that knowing about the shop owners is a right of the consumers ? – Editor).
