Attur, Udupi (Karnataka) – While the arches in Udupi District are being removed for widening of the highway as per the Supreme Court order, the arch of St. Lawrence Church in Attur has remained intact. Instead, the church has violated the Supreme Court order by erecting a large iron arch in place of small old arch.

No action from the authorities

This new arch has been erected on the land owned by the Public Works Department. Due to this unauthorised construction, the communication system is being obstructed. Even though a complaint has been lodged regarding this, the authorities are sitting idle without taking any action. Now a resistance is being built against this unauthorised arch by pro-Hindu organisation ‘Hindu Jagran Vedike’.

Editorial Perspectives

Please note that those who say that democracy is in danger in the country, are now violating the order of the Supreme Court, and insulting the democratic system.

It can be seen from such incidents that since there is a Congress Government in Karnataka, Christians along with Muslims do not have any fear.
