New Delhi – Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale has been ordered by the Delhi High Court to pay Rs 50 lakh compensation to Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s wife Lakshmi Puri (former UN Assistant Secretary General) in a defamation case. Along with this, it has been ordered to publish an apology letter in an English newspaper and circulate it on ‘X’ social media for the next 6 months. Saket Gokhale made false and defamatory allegations against Lakshmi Puri and her husband Hardeep Singh Puri on 13thand23thJune 2021. It was also alleged that he bought a house in Geneva (Switzerland) with black money.
