Faridabad (Haryana) – On 28th June, Iqbal, Mehtab and their accomplices, attempted to behead a priest named Ravi Bhagat just outside the temple. The priest was severely injured and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. The Police are searching for the Muslim suspects. Additional Police force has been deployed at the scene. In response to this incident, Gorakshak Bittu Bajrangi has announced to organise a Hindu Panchayat at the incident site in Faridabad.
1. Priest Ravi Bhagat manages the temple of Shri Kalimata in the Janata colony and takes care of the rituals. On the night of 28th June, he was sleeping on a bed outside the temple. The attackers approached him and started an argument. Soon, it escalated and they restrained him and began slashing his neck with a knife. When Bhagat’s young daughter started screaming, some people gathered and the attackers fled.
2. The Police said in a statement that it was yet to confirm if there was any religious angle to this attack. However, they are exploring all possible aspects of the case.
