Indian Armed Forces receive the first indigenous suicide drones ‘Nagastra -1’

New Delhi – Indian Army has received ‘Nagastra-1’, an indigenous suicide drone into its arsenal. The first batch of 120 drones have been received by the army. The drones flying at 4,500 metres will have the capability of destroying enemy bunkers, posts, and their ammunition stores. These suicidal drones are called Nagastra -1 Loitering Munitions. These drones have been manufactured by companies called ‘Economics Explosive Limited’ and ‘Z motion autonomous systems private limited’. Both companies are subsidiaries of ‘Solar Industries’. It is being said that a total of 450 Nagastra drones are to be supplied to the army. The trials were conducted in the Nubra Valley in Ladakh on the India-China border.

Nagastra-1 is a fixed wing drone. It can be in flight for 60 minutes. It has the capability of carrying 1 kg of explosives. Its explosion can destroy an area of 20 metres.
