
Thiruvanathapuram (Kerala) – Monsoon has arrived in Kerala 3 days ago. Landslides have occurred in many areas in the State due to heavy rains. Trees have been uprooted in many places and water has accumulated in low-lying areas. Kottayam and Idukki Districts have suffered extensive damage due to heavy rains. Citizens had to face traffic jam due to water inundation in low-lying areas in Thrissur District.
3.5 lakh people affected due to floods in Assam
Monsoon has affected 3.5 lakh people in 11 Districts of Assam. Nearly 30,000 people have taken shelter in relief camps. 1,19,997 people have suffered in Cachar District alone. Incessant rains after cyclone ‘Remal’ have disrupted road and rail services in many parts of the State.
