If the borders of the country were safe, our progress would have been faster

Statement of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval

New Delhi – The borders of any country are important; because they define autonomy. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said that if our country’s borders were more secure, clear and not waved, we would have progressed faster. He was speaking at the ‘Rustamji Memorial Lecture’ organised on the occasion of the 21st commissioning ceremony of the Border Security Force (BSF).

The borders of the country will not be safe in the future

Doval added that I don’t think our borders will be as secure as they need to be for dynamic economic growth in the future. Therefore, the responsibility of the Border Security Forces is huge. They must be on 24-hour alert. The land under our control is ours. The Government has paid a lot of attention to border security during the last 10 years and during this period its national power has grown tremendously.
