Violent clashes between BJP and Trinamool Congress workers at Nandigram (Bengal)

Nandigram (Bengal) – A woman worker of the BJP was killed while 7 party workers were injured in a violent clash between workers of the BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress Party here on the night of 22ndMay. The name of the deceased woman worker of BJP is Rathibala Adi (age-56). The incident took place in Sonchura village in Nandigram. Local BJP leaders have alleged that Trinamool Congress workers attacked with sharp weapons. Trinamool Congress has rejected these allegations. This incident has created an atmosphere of tension in the area. BJP workers protested by holding a road block here.
Voting will be held on 25thMay in 8 seats in East Medinipur and Jangalmahal Districts. The violence has heated the political atmosphere ahead of the polls.
