Vasai (Dist. Palghar) – Pre-wedding photoshoots have been banned at Vasai fort. Notice boards mentioning the order have been put up on the fort by the Archaeological Department. (The department should also ensure that the order is being followed- Editor). The demand to ban pre-wedding photoshoots was made several times by the fort crusaders.

The tourists visiting here were damaging the fort. Photos were being taken anywhere and everywhere at the fort without realising the importance or historical significance of the place. This led to desecration of this historical fort.

• Similar decision should be taken at all the forts to preserve their sanctity.

• Note that this kind of misuse of forts is due to lack of national pride among Indian citizens.
