India rejects US report of human rights violation in the country

The report mentions the so-called attacks on Muslims and Christians, while there is no mention of attacks on Hindus

Washington DC (USA) – India has rejected the 80-page report released by the US regarding human rights. The report mentions the violence in Manipur and says that human rights are being violated there. When asked about the report at a press conference, MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘This report is deeply biased and reflects a poor understanding of India. We attach no value to it and urge you to do the same.

What’s in the report ?

The US State Department publishes reports on human rights violations in many countries annually. The report mentions China, Brazil, Belarus, Myanmar, and India. Regarding India, the report mentions that there had been human rights violations after communal violence broke out between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur. At least 175 people were killed and more than 60,000 people were displaced between 3 May and 15 November 2023.

It further states that the BJP Government is discriminating against Muslims in India. Attacks on minorities have also increased in India. Modi Government tries to silence journalists and puts them in jail. The freedom of expression of the people of Jammu and Kashmir is being violated. People are not allowed to protest peacefully. The BBC offices were raided after it aired a documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Also, gangster Atiq Ahmed was killed while in Police custody. (Looking at all these mentions, it is clear that the US has no concerns about attacks on Hindus. The attacks on Hindu religious processions, the killing of Kanhaiya Lal by Muslims, the killing of devout Hindus in Karnataka in the last few years, the forced mass exodus of Hindus from Kashmir, the plight of Hindus in Bengal, etc. are not mentioned anywhere in this report. It shows how unreliable this report is ! – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

It is clear once again that US anti-India reports are nothing but trash. In the past few years, it has been apparent that the US has double standards in its policy for India. Please note that the US can never be a true friend of India !
