Washington (USA) – A Pew Research Center report claims that an estimated 80% of Americans believe that the influence of religion in American public life is steadily diminishing. This is the first time that such a large number of people in the US say that religion is losing influence. At the same time, only 8% of American adults believe that the influence of religion is increasing, and that this is a good thing.

Earlier, in the year 2017, a survey was conducted in the US. It estimated that 23% of American Muslims had cut ties with their religion; but those who converted to Islam from other religions was around 23%. Thus, the number of those who left Islam and those who joined it were equal. Along with this, 22% of Christians did not want to be associated with their sect.
