Ongoing verification of polluting vehicles by the Regional Transport Office
Mumbai – Vehicles are causing massive pollution in Mumbai. Therefore, the Regional Transport Office has started action against the concerned vehicles from November 2023. Between 8th November to 31st March, 30,781 vehicles were verified. Only 14% i.e. 4,358 vehicles were found to be polluting.
The pollution control teams of 9 transport offices in the Mumbai metropolis namely Borivali, Mumbai Central, Mumbai West, Mumbai East, Thane, Kalyan, Pen, Panvel and Vasai are taking action against polluting vehicles.
