Six religious fanatics, including a Bangladeshi infiltrator who led a burglary gang in Mumbai, arrested

53 crimes committed by the gang across various States uncovered

Mumbai – A Mumbai Crime Branch team has apprehended six individuals from Jalna, including gang leader Shakir, alias Guddu Shaikh, who had illegally entered India from Bangladesh and set up a burglary gang. The arrested individuals are Kurban Alammandal, Jakir Fakir, Manik Shaikh, Shumon Shaikh, Salman Shaikh, and Arbaz Mansuri. Consequently, 53 cases of burglary and theft across different States have been uncovered. The search for other members of the gang is ongoing.

1. Shakir Shaikh had been evading the Police. Upon receiving information of his whereabouts in Jalna, the Police conducted a raid on the residence where all the above individuals were hiding.

2. Materials required for burglary, including car, knife, screwdriver, chopper, and sickle were confiscated from them.

3. Shakir is running an inter-State gang responsible for committing heinous crimes nationwide. A total of 53 burglary cases have been attributed to this gang, including 18 in Mumbai, 3 in Bhusawal and Jalna Districts, 13 in Telangana and Nizamabad, 7 in Hyderabad, 4 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and 7 in West Bengal, encompassing Howrah and Vardhaman.

4. Shakir was using a new SIM card and mobile phone for each theft, and after the crime, he would promptly flee to Bangladesh through West Bengal.
