Locals attack Rohingya refugees in Indonesia

Banda Aceh (Indonesia) – In Banda Aceh Province, Indonesia, hundreds of people attacked the Rohingya refugee camp. The attackers were mostly students. Rohingyas began to flee as they saw an advancing crowd. The Police had a tough time saving these refugees from attackers. The students accused President Joko Widodo’s Government, saying, “Nothing is done to control refugees. Locals will suffer penury because of them.” According to the UN report, currently, a large number of Rohingya refugees are arriving in Islamic countries like Indonesia and Malaysia.

Students here have launched major protests against Rohingya Muslims who are continuously intruding into Indonesia through sea routes.

Protestors demand immediate action on sending the Rohingyas back to their own country Myanmar.

Every year expelled Rohingyas are making efforts to take refuge in various countries. In the last month, approximately 250 Rohingyas reached the coast of Banda Aceh by boat.

Locals had driven them away. In Banda Aceh, people are outraged because of Rohingya Muslim intruders.

Editorial Perspective

In an Islamic country Indonesia, local Muslims forced out the Rohingyas, their religious brethren; but in India, it is a shame that these intruders get fake identity cards and are accommodated into the country’s system.
