Case registered against the Islamic organisations issuing halal certificates in UP

Possibility of banning Halal Certification in the State

Halal Certification money used for terrorist activities; complaint lodged

Lucknow/Laxmanpuri (UP) – The Yogi Adityanath Government of Uttar Pradesh has ordered action against those who extort money from companies by issuing halal certificates for food, cosmetics etc. without any authority. After this, the Laxmanpuri Police registered a case against the Islamic organisations that issue halal certificates. A case has been registered under Sections 120 (b), 153 A, 298, 384, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code. The Uttar Pradesh Government is also considering banning Halal Certification. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has ordered action after receiving complaints that Islamic organisations that collect money through Halal Certification are being used for terrorist organisations and anti-national activities.

Names of Islamic organisations

In the crime reported by the Laxmanpuri Police, Halal India Private Limited Chennai, Jamiat Ulema Hind Halal Trust Delhi, Halal Council of India Mumbai, Jamiat Ulema Maharashtra, Mumbai, etc. were involved in providing halal certificates to consumers in the name of religion. These organisations have no authority to issue certification on products. Such certificates are being distributed by them only for financial gain. It is not only fostering social hatred, but it is also the part of playing with people’s faith.

Attempts to reduce the sale of products of companies that do not apply for Halal Certification

Complainant Shailendra Sharma said that attempts are being made to reduce the sales of the products of the companies which have not obtained halal certificates from these organisations. This is also a type of crime. There is a possibility that anti-social and anti-national events are being benefitted in the name of Halal Certification. Vegetarian foods, e.g. soap, oil, toothpaste, honey, etc. do not even require Halal Certification, and still, it is issued. This shows that a conspiracy is being hatched against a religion. It is being propagated that products of organisations that have not obtained halal certificates should not be used. This is causing commercial loss to other religions. Apart from this, financial benefits are being obtained by issuing Halal Certification on goods of general public consumption. Not only this, it is a well-planned conspiracy to weaken the country by creating hatred and division in the society. This includes certifiers and owners of a particular religious organisation.

What is Halal Certification ?

Among Muslims, halal products are considered acceptable according to Islam. It includes food, as well as other products. These products do not contain what is ‘haram’ for Muslims, i.e. inappropriate according to Islam. Such products are ‘halal certified’ by Muslim organisations. In return, thousands of rupees are extorted. Such halal-certified products are exported to Islamic countries, as well as distributed in India.

Editorial Perspective

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has been creating awareness in this regard for the last few years and is also demanding a ban on Halal Certification at the Government level. As the Uttar Pradesh Government took this step today, congratulations to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ! Hindus expect that the Union Government and other States of the country should also try to follow Yogi Adityanath’s example.
