Doctor arrested for the deaths of over 200 patients by implanting low-quality pacemakers

Arrested Dr Sameer Saraf 

Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) – A shocking incident has come to light where a doctor was playing with the lives of hundreds of patients in the University of Medical Sciences at Saifai in Etawah district. Dr Sameer Saraf, a cardiologist at Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai implanted over 600 patients with poor-quality pacemaker devices from 2017 to 2021. Due to this over 200 patients died. Dr Saraf was arrested after a high-level investigation committee set up by the State Government found the allegations against him to be true. Dr Saraf cheated his patients only because of his greed for money. He has been arrested for the deaths of his patients.

It was revealed in investigation that Dr Saraf purchased inferior quality pacemakers from fake establishments, implanted them into patients and extorted an amount equal to 9 times the original amount for these procedures. Dr Saraf is also accused of illegally extorting money from patients’ families. He is also being accused of ordering materials worth crores of rupees from the outside when the materials were available in the hospital.
