Washington (US) – Vivek Ramaswamy, a potential Republican Presidential candidate, has put forth a bold vision for Indo-American relations, emphasising the need for a strong partnership between the two nations to reduce America’s dependency on China. In a recent press statement in Iowa, the 38-year-old entrepreneur and proud Hindu outlined his views on international relations, economic ties, and foreign policy priorities.

Strengthening Indo-American Military Relations in the Andaman and Nicobar Archipelago

Addressing the press, Ramaswamy underscored the significance of enhancing Indo-American military collaboration in the strategically vital Andaman and Nicobar archipelago. He argued that this would empower both nations to potentially control the Malacca Strait, through which Chinese ships navigate to access Middle Eastern oil reserves. By bolstering their presence in this region, the US and India could potentially curb China’s influence and secure their interests.

Promoting Mutual Benefits and Cooperation

Ramaswamy went on to highlight the mutual benefits of closer cooperation between the US and India. He expressed admiration for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and expressed his desire to work alongside him to reinforce the Indo-American relationship.

Opposition to US Involvement in Russia-Ukraine Conflict

In a departure from conventional foreign policy positions, Ramaswamy firmly opposed US involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He characterised the challenge facing American foreign policy as the inability to safeguard national interests. Ramaswamy questioned the benefits of participating in a war in that region and emphasised the importance of focusing US attention on the emerging threat posed by Communist China.

The entrepreneur turned politician pointed out the substantial economic ties between the US and China, revealing that the bilateral trade between the two countries had reached an astonishing $690 billion in the previous year. He noted that imports from China accounted for $426 billion of this trade volume, underscoring the economic intricacies that underpin the relationship.
