Hindu women unsafe in Hindu-majority State, Uttar Pradesh

A Hindu woman gang-raped by 2 Muslims

Kaushambi (UP) – A Hindu woman was gang-raped by two Muslims. Based on the victim’s complaint, the Police have filed a case against the accused; but they have not been arrested yet.

The victim said in the Police complaint,

1. It was dark when I was returning home after worshiping at Sheetla Mata temple in Kada Dham. While I was waiting for the bus, Sher Muhammad, a District Panchayat member, and Zubair Ahmed took me in their four-wheeler vehicle.
2. They took me to the forest and gang-raped me. They made a video of the incident and threatened to kill me if I spoke to anyone about it.
3. At around 10 p.m., the accused threw me at a chowk and left. Somehow I reached home and narrated the incident to my husband. After that, me and my husband went to the Kada Dham Police Station in Kaushambi and filed a complaint of gang-rape against the accused.
