Nagar (Maharashtra) – On Independence Day i.e. 15th August, anti-national slogans were raised in the historic Bhuikot Fort near Nagar. Indian soldiers stationed to protect the area along with the Police from Camp Bhingar arrested 5 people in this regard. Three minors including Parvez Ijaz Patel (aged 21 years) and Arbaaz Sheikh were also involved.
Eminent people like Pandit Nehru, Maulana Azad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel were imprisoned by the British in Bhuikot Fort. In fact, Pandit Nehru had written his book ‘Discovery of India’ while he was imprisoned here.
