Particular ideology behind those attacking churches in Kerala : Sharad Pawar

Mumbai – ‘Churches were attacked in Kerala. The Christian community is peaceful. If someone has done something wrong, then is it a reason for attacking the church ? There is a particular ideology behind these attacks’, Sharad Pawar said in an attempt to target Hindus indirectly over an attack on a church in Kerala. Sharad Pawar made the above statement in a press conference on 7th June.

Sharad Pawar further said, ‘The ideology that attacks the church is not in the interest of the country. Muslim and Christian communities need to be protected. It is also the Government’s job to protect the tribal and Dalit communities’. (The population of Hindus has decreased while that of Muslims has increased in the last few years due to Love Jihad, Land Jihad, riots, and killings of Hindus, etc. Therefore, it would be an overstatement to say that Pawar, being so clever, does not realise that it is only Hindus who need to be protected ! – Editor)

Trivial issues like love jihad are being given undue importance

“Trivial issues like love jihad are being given too much importance. This is leading to unnecessary discord within the communities. Media also should not give publicity to all these things. There are many more important issues in the country and States than Love Jihad.  Yet, other issues are being brought into focus”, Sharad Pawar said. Pawar made the above statement when asked by journalists about the increasing incidents of Love Jihad in the country.
