New Delhi – “We are concerned about the violence during Ramnavami processions in India. Muslims in India are being deliberately targeted,” such a statement was issued by the ‘Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC),’ an alliance of Islamic countries.

In a statement issued by the OIC General Secretary, particular mention of the violence that took place in Bihar Sharif on 31st March was made. It said, “A madarasa and a library were set on fire by a mob of Hindus here. We condemn such violence. We call upon Indian authorities to take strict action against the perpetrators of such incidents and ensure the safety, rights, and dignity of Muslims in the country. Such violent incidents are vivid examples of Islamophobia.”
OIC’s statement is an example of communal mindset – India slams OIC
India’s Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi criticised the OIC’s statement. He said, “we strongly condemn the statement issued by OIC regarding India. This statement of OIC is an example of its communal mindset and anti-India agenda. OIC is damaging its reputation by being consistently manipulated by anti-India forces.”
