New rules of the Central Government for the entertainment channels
New Delhi – The Government issued guidelines for the entertainment channels. In that, it will be mandatory for the entertainment channels to show content related to the national interest for 30 minutes. Previously, guidelines were issued in 2005 and in 2011, they were revised. These new guidelines have been issued after 11 years after the technological progress.

1. The channels have been ordered to show content related to topics like the promotion of education and literacy, agricultural and rural development, health and family welfare, science and technology, women’s welfare, the welfare of the weaker section, environment protection, cultural heritage and national integrity, etc.
2. The Government will not provide any programs related to social welfare to the channels broadcast. The channels have the liberty to prepare the programs according to the guidelines.
