Now you can translate Sanskrit on Google !

MoU signed between Google and ‘Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ !

New Delhi – ICCR and Google have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote the Sanskrit language and advance the tech giant’s artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) language technology for translating Sanskrit literature to many other languages and vice-versa. ‘Machine learning’ is the process of teaching a computer so that it learns to do things on its own without any instructions.

Under this, English and Hindi translation of 1,00,000 commonly used Sanskrit sentences will be made available on Google. The students and teachers of Sanskrit Department of Delhi University under the leadership of Professor Amarjeev Lochan are contributing for this
