New Delhi – The US State Department has released a report on International Religious Freedom. As a naturally pluralistic society, India values religious freedom and human rights; however, in this report, a senior US official has unnecessarily commented about India on the basis of incomplete information. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has slammed the US report on religious freedom in India by saying that other countries have no legal right to comment on the constitutional rights of its citizens. In a statement, Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, called on to refrain from conducting analysis based on biased views and information prompted by certain motives.

The US State Department’s 2021 report on international religious freedom was released by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. It deals with the state and violation of religious freedom around the world. It also mentions that minorities are being attacked in India.

Editorial Viewpoint

  • India must not only stop with this retort but should also retaliate by publishing counter reports on human rights violations in the US and European countries !
  • Central Government must retort the US about its brazen attempt to publish such a report while it allows the Black community in its own country to be attacked and let them die in it !
