Punjab Police’s Intelligence Department Head-office attacked with grenades launched by a Rocket launcher

Chandigarh – Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters located in Mohali was attacked using a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG). The grenade did not explode, hence only the window panes broke. An investigation is on about this attack. It is said to have been a terrorist attack. This attack was carried out from a distance of 80 meters. The Police say they saw the attacker’s car driving by. Police suspect that the grenade was fired from this car. Two individuals were seen in the car.

What is a ‘Rocket Propelled Grenade’ ?

A ‘Rocket Propelled Grenade’ (RPG) can be used to destroy anything like a tank, an armoured vehicle, a helicopter, or a plane. Its range is 700 meters. A rocket-propelled grenade is launched from the shoulder. This is a weapon that can launch ballistic missiles. Most RPGs can be carried by one person. This means that one person can handle it by himself. It was used against the Taliban in the war in Afghanistan.
