  • Each household has to pay Rs 1,000 per year to get a licence
  • A fine of Rs 10,000 if his cow or buffalo is found wandering in public places

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – The Congress Government of Rajasthan has announced a new law regarding the domestication of animals. As per the law, each household in Rajasthan has permission to keep only one cow or buffalo in their house. However, they will have to pay an annual fee of Rs 1,000 to get a licence for their domestic animal. This law will be implemented in over 213 towns/cities of the State.

As per this law, if the animal is found wandering in the streets without anyone looking after it, then the owner will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. After a licence is procured; a ‘tag’ will be fixed to the ear of the animal. This tag will have specific information like the name of the owner, his phone number, address etc. Every 10 days the cow dung is to be thrown outside the city in the designated areas. The area where the animal will be kept has to be kept clean. If it is found unwashed and filthy then a fine of Rs 500 will be levied on the owner. If the above laws are not followed, then a one-month notice will be sent to the owner informing him of the cancellation of his licence. After which the owner cannot apply for another licence in his lifetime.
