Vapi (Gujarat) – Two Hindu students from St Mary Convent school raised slogans of ‘Jai Shriram’ in the school; therefore, the school administration threatened to rusticate these students from the school. The enraged parents of these students and activists of pro-Hindu organisations went to the school and registered their protest. They too raised slogans of ‘Jai Shriram’. Later, the school administration apologised to the parents and the activists of pro-Hindu organisations.
1. The two students studying in the ninth standard greeted each other, saying ‘Jai Shriram’. The school administration had, therefore, asked these students to kneel down and apologise for breaking the school’s rules.
2. Sushil Yadav, a devout Hindu activist, said while speaking about the incident that such incidents had occurred even earlier. In the month of ‘Shravan’, when Hindu students attend school with a red thread tied on their wrist, action was taken against them.
