Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh) – Atmakur town has an illegal mosque behind Padmavati school. The BJP workers who opposed the mosque were attacked inside the Police station from all sides. The religious fanatics created a nuisance by destroying the vehicles outside before Police fired in the air in retaliation. Police are deployed in large numbers to manage the tensions in the area. BJP accused it was an assault to kill the District leader Shrikant Reddy. Reddy’s vehicle got destroyed in this attack.

- BJP’s State Secretary stated that some BJP leaders had asked CM Jagmohan Reddy about encroachment in Atmakur town. The BJP members were attacked by religious fanatics when they approached the Government in front of the Police. This is a shameful and unfortunate situation. BJP will keep protesting against this.
- The Commissioner of AP Police said that some parties were trying to provoke violence under the name of religion. The Superintendent has been ordered to take severe action against those responsible.
