
New Delhi – According to the findings of the 5th round of the National Family and Health Survey (NFHS), for the first time in India, the number of women for every 1000 men is 1020.

As per the survey in 2015-16, there were 991 women for every 1000 men in India. Though the women-men ratio in villages is 1,037 women for every 1000 men, it is just 985 for every 1000 men in cities. The proportion of usage of modern sanitation facilities was 48.5% in 2015-16, which has increased in 2019-21 to 70.2%. As the survey has reported, 96.8% of houses in the country have access to electricity.
