- Decision is taken on the backdrop of corona : 30% reduction will be for the whole year
- This decision is always expected, not only on the backdrop of corona. Just as the salaries of the employees in other establishments who do not meet the expected standards are cut or stopped, similarly work of MPs shall also be evaluated and their salaries should also be cut or stopped, on the basis of their performance.
New Delhi – Rajya Sabha passed the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament (Amendment) Bill on 18th September. Due to this, the salary of MPs will be cut by 30% for the next year. The list also includes the Prime Minister, other Ministers of the Cabinet, Ministers of State and MPs. It is being said that this decision has been taken on the background of Corona. The bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi.
