Lucknow (U.P.) – In the context of Love Jihad, the Uttar Pradesh Government is soon expected to issue an ordinance related to religious conversion. Laws and Acts enacted to oppose conversion in other states are being studied. After this, the Uttar Pradesh Government will make its own law related to it, senior State officials said. Currently, there are anti-conversion laws in 8 states of the country. These include Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
More than 12 incidents of love jihad in Kanpur have been found by the Special Investigation Team. Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, who has returned from the State visit recently has also expressed concern regarding these cases. On that background, the Government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to take drastic measures to stop it.
