Provision of punishment up to 10 years
Jaipur (Rajasthan) – The cabinet of the BJP Government in the state has approved the Anti-Conversion Bill. This bill will be tabled in the upcoming session of the Legislative Assembly. Those who compel conversion can be punished with imprisonment of 1 to 5 years. If a minor is converted, the punishment will be from 3 to 10 years. There will be new rules for conversion. If you want to convert, you have to inform the District Magistrate of the area 60 days in advance.
Editorial PerspectiveLegislation for the protection of Hindus must be enacted as well as strictly enforced. Despite the prohibition of cow slaughter laws in many states of the country, beef trafficking is still going on due to large scale slaughter of cattle. It is also necessary to consider that even though anti-conversion laws have been passed in some states, conversion has not stopped there. |
