Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Bangladesh’s Interim Government Chief Muhammad Yunus met with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen. During this meeting, Yunus requested that Chinese manufacturers relocate their solar panel factories to Bangladesh, which would help diversify Bangladesh’s exports and develop green energy.

1. Yunus also emphasised the need for China to increase the imports of Bangladeshi goods to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. In the meeting, Yunus called for stronger economic collaboration between Beijing and Dhaka.

2. Yunus stated that China has emerged as the largest producer of solar panels but faces restrictions in the export market. China is the world’s largest market for solar thermal energy.

3. Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s future would be bright under the leadership of Yunus. He also reiterated China’s commitment to finding a permanent solution to the Rohingya crisis and securing a ceasefire in Myanmar’s violence- stricken Rakhine State.

4. Yunus expressed hope that China will continue to provide political, economic, and humanitarian assistance to the more than one million Rohingya Muslims living in Bangladesh.

Editorial Perspective

It is clear that Bangladesh is now going to be a slave of China. It also indicates that in the future, China may use Bangladesh as a base to carry out anti-India activities. India may have to face consequences for not intervening in Bangladesh’s internal matters.
