Monitoring body need of the hour to curb denigration of Dharma by OTT Platforms

Jyotsana Garg, General Secretary, Nation First Collective

Ramnath Devasthan – The Board of Film Certification (Censor Board) keeps a watch on the film industry to censor content that is harmful to society. But there is no similar board for OTT platforms. This makes way for a large amount of anti-HIndu and anti Dharmik content to be broadcast. So Hindu organisations should unite to demand that the government institute a monitoring body that will oversee the OTT platforms and curb such content, said Ms Jyotsana Garg (General Secretary, Nation First Collective). She was speaking on the efforts to curb anti-Hindu content shown in films, on the second day of the Vaishvik Hindu Rashtra Mahotsav (2024) here.

Jyotsana Garg is an Advisory Panel Member at the Central Board of Film Certification. She has opposed various films that denigrate the Nation, Hindu Dharma and culture. Due to her efforts, while some films were never released, some others had to cut out denigratory portions. She said, “Films and TV channels have a profound effect on society. Foreign organisations extend financial support to filmmakers in India. Because they want to destroy Hindu Dharma and culture, they finance anti-Dharmik films. Everyone needs to unitedly oppose such films. Along with this, Hindus must keep a check on their children too. Pay attention to what children watch on mobiles. If children are given Dharmik sanskars (values rooted in Dharma) from their childhood, they will not fall prey to love jihad or conversion. We should connect our children with Dharma, culture, and temples. That will solve half the problems of Hindus.”
