Manila (Philippines) – On June 17, Chinese and Philippine soldiers clashed in the South China Sea. The Philippines claimed that the Chinese soldiers attacked with axes and sharp weapons. A video showing Chinese soldiers standing on their boats with weapons in their hands has gone viral.

In a press conference, Philippine military officials said that the Chinese Coast Guard officers boarded their boats illegally. They looted rifles, destroyed the equipment on the boats and attacked them with weapons. They also snatched the mobile phones of their soldiers.

China’s Foreign Ministry informed that the arms were being smuggled from a Philippines boat. Their soldiers had hit their boat first. After that their authorities took action against them.
