More than 80 terrorists have entered Jammu and Kashmir : DGP RR Swain

Srinagar (Jammu-Kashmir) – “Though the recruitment of terrorists from Kashmir has come down drastically, the number of foreign terrorists has increased. Some 70 to 80 foreign terrorists have come here with arms and ammunition. They are trying to disturb the peace. Recently, they tried to blow up the electricity tower that provides power supply to people.” Jammu and Kashmir’s DGP RR Swain informed.

Director General of Police RR Swain further said that the Police are taking strict action against some people for the peace of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our endeavour to keep the youth away from guns has borne fruit. This has saved many women from becoming widows, many families from getting ruined and many lives from going to waste. I am happy that the recruitment of local terrorists has been brought under control. Terrorism is moving from local to foreign terrorism. The Police are fully aware of the situation and will maintain a peaceful and fear-free environment in Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming assembly elections, as witnessed in the Lok Sabha”.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Every year 100 to 200 terrorists are killed in Kashmir, but new terrorists intrude Kashmir from Pakistan. This shows that the Police and security forces failed to prevent this intrusion.
  • Unless the terrorist training camps in Pakistan are destroyed, this situation will continue for many years.
