Forecast – Increase in temperature in Goa and heavy rains in Karnataka
New Delhi – Tremendous suffering is observed across the country due to severe heat. In addition, Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for the next 5 days in 9 States namely Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and Bengal. Apart from this, temperature may increase in the States of Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Jharkhand and Goa.
On 17thMay, many cities in these 9 States recorded temperature between 43-to-46-degree Celsius. In Agra, the maximum temperature had reached 46.9 degree.
Signs of heavy rains in South India
States in South India are predicted to receive heavy rains. Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry will receive heavy rains in the next 5 days. As per the forecast, heavy rains are expected from 20thMay in Karnataka. Heavy rains are expected in Shivamogga, Chikkamangaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada Districts of Karnataka from 17thto 21stMay.
