No VIP darshan in Chardham till 31stMay : Uttarakhand Government’s order

Dehradun – Massive crowd of devotees at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri for the Chardham Yatra has become a challenge for the administration. Keeping in mind the huge crowd, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has extended the ban on VIP darshan till 31stMay. Earlier the ban was implemented till 25thMay. Apart from this, the administration has ordered that the devotees cannot make ‘reels’ and ‘videos’ within 50 metres of the temple.

1. No solution has been found to the traffic congestion on Yamunotri and Gangotri routes yet.

2. On the 99 km route from Uttarkashi to Gangotri and on the 46 km route from Barkot to Yamunotri, 3,000 vehicles are queued in traffic for 12 hours.

3. The administration has removed many bottlenecks on the Gangotri and Yamunotri routes.

4. On 16thMay, 28,000 devotees visited Kedarnath, 12,000 visited Badrinath, 10,718 visited Yamunotri and 12,236 visited Gangotri. So far, a total of 3,98,000 people have visited all the four Dhams. More than 28 lakh people have registered.

5. Uttarkashi administration distributed food packets and water bottles so that the devotees do not face any problem due to traffic congestion. Some temporary toilets have also been set up.

6. For the first time, more than 400 doctors have been appointed along the Chardham Yatra route.
