Nepal to print its map on Rs 100 notes

Three Indian regions included in the map

Kathmandu (Nepal) – Nepal has announced its decision to print a new map on its Rs 100 notes, which will include Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani – regions that are integral parts of India. Since last few years, Nepal has been claiming these regions as its own.

1. The Nepalese cabinet under Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda decided to print the new map on the Rs 100 note, informed Minister Rekha Sharma.

2. On 18th June 2020, Nepal incorporated Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani into its political map by amending its Constitution. India had objected to this map.

Editorial Perspective

It is suicidal for Nepal to rely on Chinese support and take an anti-India stance. India must respond to Nepal in a language it understands.
