Feel ashamed while looking at Bangladesh which has gone ahead of Pakistan : Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif while addressing businessmen at Sindh CM House said, “I am ashamed to see the progress of Bangladesh.”

1. In the year 1971, Bangladesh was formed after separating from Pakistan. In 53 years, Bangladesh has become the second largest economy in South Asia. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Bangladesh has crossed Rs 37 lakh crore. On the other hand, Pakistan’s economy continues to decline. Its GDP is Rs 2 lakh crore. One taka of Bangladesh (its currency) is equal to two rupees of Pakistan.

2. In the year 2016, for the first time, Bangladesh surpassed Pakistan in terms of GDP. At that time Bangladesh’s per capita gross domestic product was Rs 1.38,000, while Pakistan’s per capita gross domestic product was Rs 1,22,000. Now Pakistan’s per capita GDP remains the same; but per capita GDP of Bangladesh has crossed Rs 2 lakh.

3. In 1972, 7 Bangladeshi takas were equal to USD 1, while 4 Pakistani rupees were equal to USD 1; but today USD 1 is worth 109 takas and 278 Pakistani rupees.

Editorial Perspective

It is not a small thing that shameless Pakistanis feel ashamed of this fact. The people of Bangladesh were oppressed by Pakistan. Pakistan killed 2.5 million Bangladeshi Hindus and Muslims. Bangladesh surpassing Pakistan in the economic sector, and Pakistan approaching bankruptcy, is the punishment given by the destiny.
