Araria (Bihar) – The incident unfolded in Phulkaha Police Station area, specifically in the Bhangahi village panchayat, home to Bhaundhar Madhya Vidyalaya, a Government School where Shri Bhagavati temple nestled within the premises serves as a revered place of worship for the Hindus. Reports emerged on 9th April, as locals discovered the desecration of the sacred site, sparking immediate outrage and exacerbating communal sentiments. The desecration occurred during a period when the school was not in session, religious fanatics vandalised the Idols, igniting a fire on the hearth and consuming mutton on the temple grounds. Additionally, offensive graffiti was discovered, adding fuel to the already inflamed situation. At present, Police officials remain stationed in the area to monitor the situation closely and prevent any further escalation.
