Kasargodu (Kerala) – The court acquitted 3 Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activists Akhilesh (age 34 years), Jitin (age 28 years) and Ajesh (age 29 years), accused in the 2017 murder of Riyaz Maulvi (27 years). They had to spend 7 years in jail.
Mohammad Riaz Maulvi, who worked as a teacher in a Madrasah in Halesurlu, Kasargodu, was stabbed to death in the morning of March 20, 2017 in the mosque. The above accused were arrested 3 days after the incident.
On the verdict of the court Riaz Maulvi’s wife Saeeda said that we had faith in the court. It was thought that the accused would be severely punished; but we did not get justice.
