Entrepreneurs warn British Government
London (Britain) – Britain’s ruling Conservative party will enforce new visa rules in the country from 4th April; however, businessmen in Britain have started opposing this. 200 British entrepreneurs have warned Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that raising the wage cap on visas for mid-level skilled workers would force nearly 10 lakh Indians out of the economy. This may lead Britain’s economy to collapse by more than 30%.
According to the new rules, Indian nationals coming to work in Britain will get a visa only if their salary is more than 30 lakhs per annum. At present this wage cap is 27.5 lakhs per annum. This rule will make it almost impossible for mid-level skilled Indians to find jobs in Britain. The British Government says that this rule is being enforced for facilitating jobs for white people in Britain.
Government has to withdraw the new rule
A leading businessman with ties to the ruling party said the Government has assumed that mid-level jobs would be filled by local whites, but the reality is different. Indians dominate mid-level jobs. The whole system will not change overnight. The Government will have to withdraw the new rule.
Pakistani-origin mayor of London has opposed too
London’s Pakistani-origin mayor Sadiq Khan said that Sunak Government is only working to pull down Indians; however, Britain will suffer a greater loss due to this. Immigrants have boosted Britain’s economy. Today they are present in every field. Mid-level jobs are the backbone of Britain’s economy, and it has been enriched by immigrants.
Will change the rules if voted to power : Labour Party
Chris Bryant, the leader of the main opposition Labour Party in Britain, said that if we come to power in the elections at the end of the year, we will again lower the salary limit of visas for nurses, teachers and mid-level jobs to ₹27.5 lakhs a year. Discussions over this are going on with Indians in Britain.
Editorial Perspective
Please note that despite being of Indian origin, British PM Rishi Sunak makes laws to give employment to Birtish citizens over Indians and British entrepreneurs oppose him. |
