Claim of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs
New Delhi – India’s Ministry of External Affairs has stated that Indian Army recruits were scammed by the lure of jobs in Russia. It said, ‘We are treating this matter as a matter of priority and are in touch with the Russian Government. This will help the Indians to get out of the Russian army as soon as possible. After raising this point, many Indian citizens have been released by the Russian army.’
The Ministry of External Affairs further said, “We have seen some false reports, in which some Indians are seeking help from the Russian army to be freed.” Every such case has been reported to the Indian Embassy in Moscow. The embassy has raised the matter with the Russian Government.
Cheated due to the lure of a salary of lakhs of rupees
Indians serving in the Russian army were lured to work as auxiliaries in Russian establishments. It was said that they would be given a salary of lakhs of rupees for this. Due to this, Indian youths who went to Russia from Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat were recruited into the Russian army and deployed on the Ukrainian border. After being cheated in this way, these youths sought help from the Government of India. The passports of these youths have been taken away.
